Condolence: We will miss Dad, I will miss his voice, I will miss hearing him quote verses from the 'Authorized Version'. I will miss his biscuits, chili and baked beans. I will miss not hearing him preach a sermon again. However, I thank God that because of the work of the Lord Jesus on the cross and because the Lord Jesus said when he was on earth that any one who believes on Him, He would raise up at the Last Day. (John 6:40) So we sorrow not as those who have no hope. We will meet again and never have to part. I am glad that the on-going background and theme provided by both Mom and Dad was their utter confidence in our Lord and in the scriptures. Dad will know in the midst of the complete and eternal joy that we will follow in trace.
Condolence: What a wonderful man Pastor Chaney was! My dad, John Richardson and Pastor Chaney were very close friends! He had a great impact on our lives while pastoring in Malta. Memories of him include one of his favorite songs, "O For a Thousand Tongues". I always think of him when I hear that song. I remember he and dad cooking at camp at Hungry Horse one year also. They really got the compliments on the food, people asking for their recipe for spaghetti sauce-they didn't have a recipe, they just threw stuff together! They laughed about that a lot! He was a wonderful preacher and I know prayer was so important to him! He walked with God! I, for one, am so thankful he was our pastor! There was a great reunion in Heaven when he entered those gates! Someday soon we will join him there! Praying that God will comfort you all. Love to you all from Stan and Donna Stephan
You were such a strong influence and a bright light for so long that it's difficult to believe you're no longer with us. But I know you were longing for the day when you would be "absent from the body, but present with the Lord," as St. Paul said. Greet Daniel, your son, and Daniel, your dad. Reconcile with Ruthie, your mom, live it up with Alton and Aunt Mary, and enjoy a conversation with Aunt Imogene. You were an extraordinary person. Thank you for telling me you loved me and you were proud of me, and for knowing that I love you. Your daughter, Amy.
