Obituary

Thomas E. Adix, 86, of Albin, Wyoming, died Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.

He was born June 13, 1932 in Boone, Iowa and lived in Wyoming for the rest of his life.

He enlisted in the United States Army during the Korean War where he served as one of the last ferriers and mule packers in the military. He saw duty at Camp Hale in Colorado. He worked at the Husky Refinery as an operator and shift foreman for 40 years in both Cody and Cheyenne, receiving many accolades and promotions before retiring. In 1981, he received recognition for 25 years of refinery service.

Mr. Adix was very active for his entire life shoeing horses and mules. Along with helping start high school rodeo in the State of Wyoming, he was ranch foreman for the extensive Buchanan Ranch in Cody. He also loved to farm and raise hay on his ranch in Cody and Pine Buffs.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 44 years, Veronica Adix of Pine Bluffs; sister, Margaret Cross of Crescent City; brother-in-law, Sherrill Moses of La Mirada; mother, Jenny Ritter of Cody; and father, Harold Adix of Cody.

He is survived by his daughter, Samantha Beck and husband, Ron, of Albin; granddaughter, Reata Beck of Albin; and his sister, Catherine Moses of La Mirada.

A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Pine Bluffs Cemetery with a memory service to immediately follow at the Albin Baptist Church at 11:30 a.m.

To the Family, I am deeply sorry to hear of your loss. Losing my parent has been difficult for me. However, I found this scripture helpful. At 2 Cor 1:3,4 it says: “3Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;4Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.”

My deep deep condolences to the Adix family: May you reflect on the precious memories that you made with your loved one. I would also like to share what helped us when our precious daughter died and later when my precious husband fell asleep in death as well. I appreciated the calls and visits from all over. But, I also recall just sitting down and reading different Scriptures and meditating on them. It was so comforting to read that God cares for us personally... (1Peter 5:6, 7). Yes, He cares, He sees our pain. And, He Jehovah God will in His due time do away with the things that cause us sadness and pain. These are some promises: All sicknesses & death (Isaiah 33:24 & Isaiah 25:8). He is indeed a God of comfort. Oh, wow He promises the hope of seeing our precious loved ones again (John 5:28, 29) and says where (Psalms 37:11). He always keeps His word. I hope that these few Scriptures were of some comfort to you as they were to me.
