Obituary

John M. Williams, 85, of Cheyenne passed away February 20, 2019 at Lifecare Center.

He was born January 21, 1934 in Casey, Iowa to Wayne and Dorothea Williams. He married Marilyn Atkinson on May 14, 1960 in Cheyenne. He was retired from the Wyoming Department of Transportation, and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

He was raised in a farm family in Iowa and enjoyed watching football, going to the health club, and taking care of his beautiful lawn. He was a very social person and would talk to anybody, anywhere and could visit for hours. His family was the most important thing in his life.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Williams of Cheyenne; children, David Williams of Cheyenne, Joe (Tracy) Williams of Cheyenne and Jeannette Williams of Cheyenne; grandchildren, Eric, Amanda, Jordan, Kaleigh, Bobbi and Autumn and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded by his parents, and a brother, Jim Williams.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Marilyn and all the family. We shared many special memories over the years from visits to the farm when we were "kids", getting our Mothers together in their later years, numerous Watson reunions, meeting in Minneapolis at the Country Buffet and then retiring and having time for long chats by phone.

I’m sorry to have read about the loss of your dear loved one. May you find comfort from God’s word at Revelation 21:4 where He promises that “he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more”. He also promises that we will see our dear loved ones again. (Acts 24:15) May the God of comfort and peace be with the Williams family during this difficult time

Marilyn and family, was sorry to hear of John's passing. We were neighbors(Larsons) just east of the John's family farm. I remember you & John came back to see Jim and I babysat all the kids when you went out on a Saturday night. John was always a good guy and always came to visit my folks when he was back. My family just lost my oldest brother, Robert, 88 on Valentines Day and am sure he & John went to country school together and then to Casey High. Now they are probably telling stories once again about the good old days along with Jim. Our deepest sympathy to you and your family. Cheryl (Larson) Glasgow-CO

How do I condense decades of wonderful memories through all our phone calls. John kept me up to date on all our cousins. He and I could easy talk for 2 hours without running out of things to chat about. I’m going to miss him so very much! Marilyn - I am so sorry you have lost your soul mate but cherish the years of wonderful memories and lean on your children For strength to get through this time. Sending my love - Helen Blake in TN

My deep deep condolences to the Williams family: May you reflect on the precious memories of your loved one. I would like to share what helped us when our precious daughter died and later when my precious husband fell asleep in death as well. I appreciated the calls and visits from all over the U.S. but I recall just sitting down and reading different Scriptures and meditating on them. It was so comforting to read that God cares for me personally... (1Peter 5:6, 7). Yes, He cares, He sees our pain. And, He Jehovah God will in His due time do away with All sicknesses & death (Isaiah 33:24 & Isaiah 25:8). He is indeed a God of comfort. Oh, wow He promises the hope of seeing our precious loved ones again (John 5:28, 29) and says where (Psalms 37:11). He always keeps His word. I hope that these few Scriptures were of some comfort to you as they were to me.
