Nathan O’Grady, 42, of Cheyenne passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 7, 2019

Nathan was born April 2, 1976 to Pat and Theresa O’Grady. He had a rough start to life the first few months and was eventually diagnosed with Prader Willi Syndrome.

Despite the many obstacles Prader Willi presented, Nathan’s parents did everything possible to ensure Nathan would have a longer than expected life. Nathan took pleasure from the small things- family get togethers, going to prom, graduating from East High School, dressing up for Halloween and going out for dinner and a movie. An occasional gambling trip was always great fun, especially when he could talk Uncle Mike into paying for it.

Nathan is survived by his father, Pat O’Grady; brother, Branden; nephew, Shawn; grandmother, Trish Meares; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded by his mother, Theresa; grandparents, Tim O’Grady, Carol O’Grady and Steve Meares.

Nathan was an inspiration to his family and friends and will be sorely missed.

Those who wish, may contribute to Stride Learning Center

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Cheyenne Hills Church. Cremation and services are under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.

Nathan was one of the most uplifting people I have ever met. We went to school at East together and he always had a smile, hug, and a kind word or goofy remark to share, always in good fun. Fun loving and full of heart for all people. I also worked with him later on and looked forward to seeing him each day. He was always a bright spot in my days. He will be missed until we are all reunited again one day. He will live on in the warm and wonderful memories of all who loved him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family through this time.

Oh my sweet Nathan! Always made me feel special! Greeted me with the biggest smile whenever he saw me and always had a hug to share. Praying for comfort for his friends and family. My life is blessed by having know Nathan. My constant ray of sunshine!

My deep deep condolences to the O’Grady family: May you reflect on the precious memories of your loved one. I would like to share what helped us when our precious daughter died and later when my precious husband fell asleep in death as well. I appreciated the calls and visits from all over the U.S. but I recall just sitting down and reading different Scriptures and meditating on them. It was so comforting to read that God cares for us personally... (1Peter 5:6, 7). Yes, He cares, He sees our pain. And, He Jehovah God will in His due time do away with All sicknesses & death (Isaiah 33:24 & Isaiah 25:8). He is indeed a God of comfort. Oh, wow He promises the hope of seeing our precious loved ones again (John 5:28, 29) and says where (Psalms 37:11). He always keeps His word. I hope that these few Scriptures were of some comfort to you as they were to me.
