Obituary

Sharon K. Walter, 80, of Cheyenne passed away April 10, 2019 at the Davis Hospice Center.

Sharon was born May 24, 1938 in Grant City, Missouri, daughter of Nadine and Earl McClellan. Following her mother’s passing, she was raised by Robert and Joan Cunningham.

Sharon graduated from high school in Hampton, Virginia. In 1971, she married David Walter in Reno, Nevada. She is survived by her husband, David; son, Harold G. “Hal” Walter (Mary); daughter, Shelby N. Crabtree (George); and grandsons, John Crabtree and Harrison Walter.

Sharon had a widely diversified career, working for the Bureau of Land Management, Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Forest Service, Federal Housing, the Internal Revenue Service, Federal Highways, and retired from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Cheyenne. Her travels and work took her from Missouri to Virginia, Nevada, Washington, D.C., Colorado, Portugal, and Wyoming. She never really retired, working Sharon’s Desktop Publishing and with the Eclectic Elephant. Her main loves were her family, her cats, Lucee and Guy, and her many close friends.

Services will be private. Cremation is under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Sharon's name may be made to Davis Hospice Center or charity of choice.

I am very sorry for your loss. Most people who have died will be resurrected. Jesus promised that “those in the memorial tombs will . . . come out.” In harmony with God’s original purpose, those resurrected as humans will have the opportunity to live on a paradise earth. This promised future includes perfect health and everlasting life for obedient humans. The Bible says: “The righteous will possess the earth, and they will live forever on it.” You can also look at Revelation 21: 3-4

My deep deep condolences to the Walter family: May you reflect on the precious memories that you have made with your loved one. Losing a loved one can cause so so much sadness and pain of heart. So, I would like to share what helped us when our precious daughter died and later when my precious husband fell asleep in death due to cancer. I appreciated the calls and visits from people from all over. But I also, recall just sitting down and reading different Scriptures and meditating on them. It was so comforting to read that God cares for us personally... (1Peter 5:6, 7). Yes, He cares, He sees our pain. And, He Jehovah God will in His due time do away with All sicknesses & death (Isaiah 33:24 & Isaiah 25:8). He is indeed a God of comfort. Oh, wow He promises the hope of seeing our precious loved ones again (John 5:28, 29) and says where (Psalms 37:11). He always keeps His word. I hope that these few Scriptures were of some comfort to you as they were to me.

Shelby and family of Sharon, words cannot describe how my heart hurts for you and the family. I don't have to tell you how very much I cared for your mom growing up with her and seeing her at our reunions and of course meeting you. I cherish the H.H.S. necklace she gave me and wear it often. Till we all meet again, prayers they God may lift you all. Patsy Jones class of 1956

Such a pleasant woman in our office. That smile in the morning charged anyones day. I guess her absence in our retirement years was her ambitious life. I am certain many of us miss her. Jim Lambert
