Nancy J. O’Dell, 85, of Cheyenne, Wyoming passed away Friday, May 3, 2019 at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.

Nancy was born December 1, 1933 in Superior, Wisconsin, a daughter of the late Alvin S. and Neva (Rood) Wilcox.

Nancy was a dedicated mother, raising four sons while her husband, James, worked for the telephone company. She continued working in the family business assisting her husband as the manager of their mobile home park. Her sense of humor and endless energy was evident in everything that she did. She enjoyed shopping, painting, scrapbooking, playing cards and Bingo and making greeting cards, even though for the past 15 years she was legally blind. Her other interests included being involved in the American Legion Auxiliary and traveling south to Texas and Arizona for the past 30 years. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife and a loving mother, grandmother and friend.

Nancy is survived by her husband, James R. O’Dell of Cheyenne; four sons, Dennis O’Dell (Robin) of Berthoud, CO, Randy O’Dell (Lisa) of Cheyenne, Douglas O’Dell (Tanya) of Cheyenne, and David O’Dell (Carol) of Cheyenne; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Connie Keough and Donna Blendheim.

A memory service will be celebrated on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. An interment service will be held at Beth El Cemetery with a reception to immediately follow in the Schrader Reception Center.

My deep deep condolences to the O’Dell family: May you reflect on the precious memories that you have made with your loved one. Losing a loved one can cause so so much sadness and pain of heart. So, I would like to share what helped us when our precious daughter died and later when my precious husband fell asleep in death due to cancer. I appreciated the calls and visits from people from all over. But I also, recall just sitting down and reading different Scriptures and meditating on them. It was so comforting to read that God cares for us personally... (1Peter 5:6, 7). Yes, He cares, He sees our pain. And, He Jehovah God will in His due time do away with All sicknesses & death (Isaiah 33:24 & Isaiah 25:8). He is indeed a God of comfort. Oh, wow He promises the hope of seeing our precious loved ones again (John 5:28, 29) and says where (Psalms 37:11). He always keeps His word. I hope that these few Scriptures were of some comfort to you as they were to me.

Nancy was a multi talented lady, as many friends and relatives can vouch safe, and she shared her talents with all. Her passion for painting lives on in her son, Randy and is just beginning to spark in grandson, James. It's a legacy that will continue to keep your memory alive in the eyes and hearts of those who knew and loved you.
