Billie Jean Corso, 82, passed away on August 9, 2019 in Meridian, Idaho from complications following a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

Billie was born on June 6, 1937 in Hillsdale, Wyoming to Elvis and Maxine Pace (nee Lower). On September 15, 1956 she married her high school sweetheart, Bernard M. Corso. Together they had four children, Carolyn Ruth (Rodney) Kraft, Barbara Ann (Mike) Clegg, Janet Marie (Kraig) Howe, and Michael Eugene (Cathy) Corso.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her son. She is survived by her three daughters; sister, Ruth Reynolds; brother, Darwin Pace; eight grandchildren, Travis, Tonja, Shad, Tia, Taylor, Klista, Shyan, and Rachael; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Billie’s hobbies included ceramics, painting, crocheting, knitting, and reading. She also enjoyed traveling and took pride in the fact that she had been in all 50 states. She also toured Italy and other European countries. While in Italy, she was privileged to see the Pope. Billie was a devout Catholic and trusted that she would someday be reunited with her loved ones in heaven.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 16, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home with a Vigil for the Deceased to follow at 7:00 the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday, August 17th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Cathedral followed by an interment in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens. A luncheon reception will follow at St. Mary’s.

I remember Billie from when I was about 4 years old. She was a wonderful woman and clearly loved and cared for her entire family. She is with the angels and your Dad and Mike.

For several years I worked with Billie at NASS. Her mentorship and smile were one of the reasons I worked there so long. Billie always had a kind word and a smile no matter how badly I messed up. Billie knew how much I loved to make cheesecakes so about a week after I left NASS, she mailed me about 100 cheesecake recipes. She was a kind, sweet woman.

Spent many Friday nights in the Corso home. Being devoted catholic they did not eat meat on Fridays. I’ll never forget one particular Friday we sat down for dinner and Billie served some eggplant dish. I ate it without a complaint, she offered seconds but I declined. Janet and I went upstairs and I remember telling her that was nasty stuff we had to eat. Billie otherwise was a very good cook. Many fond memories at the Corso home.
