Mrs. Agnes Wienstein, 94 passed away peacefully in her home on September 30, 2024. She was born on January 1, 1930, to Charles O. and Isabella Plumb, and grew up with five sisters on a farm west of Greeley, Colorado. She married Lester Weinstein on the campus of Colorado Teachers College (UNC), on March 22, 1950. They moved to Cheyenne in 1955 and had long careers teaching in the Cheyenne Public Schools. Agnes was a very active Girl Scout leader, volunteered at the Veterans Hospital, and was a member of Mount Sinai Congregation. She loved the outdoors, especially fishing, and would typically land the biggest trout.
Agnes is survived by two sons Steve Weinstein of Bellevue, Washington, and Jeff (Mary) Weinstein of Cheyenne, two grandchildren Nathan (Zoey) Weinstein of Montrose, Colorado, and Ali (Booker) Kramschuster of Laramie, Wyoming, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her husband Lester, her daughter Libby, daughter-in-law Esther, and sisters Charlotte Mundy, Marjorie O'Farrell, Barbara Hansen, Frances Dunleavy, and Annabel Glenn.
Services will be graveside at the Cheyenne Jewish Cemetery on Friday, October 4, at 11:00 am. Friends may contribute to Mount Sinai Congregation or the charity of their choice.
