Alberto Rosario Jr., born January 4, 1959, in New York City, was the beloved only son and middle child of Alberto Sr. and Rafaela Rosario.
Alberto’s formative years and education took place in the vibrant streets of New York City, igniting in him a deep-seated passion for social change. Throughout his life, he served on the Board of Directors for numerous organizations dedicated to supporting inner-city hospitals, assisting low-income families, aiding the homeless, and promoting access to healthy food options in urban food deserts.
His love for his city led him to pursue a candidacy for Borough President in 1982, a dream wholeheartedly supported by his parents. Although his political aspirations were not realized, Alberto found his true calling as an educator, continually seeking knowledge to enrich the minds of his students.
In 1990, Alberto married the love of his life, Yadira, on April 21. Together, they raised three wonderful children—Raquel, Madeline, and Alberto III—in the city that inspired him.
Upon retirement in 2017, Alberto sought a new chapter. After extensive research, prayer, and visits, he, and Yadira, along with their beloved dog Daniel, relocated to Wyoming. He cherished the serene landscapes, open skies, and, as he fondly described it, Wyoming’s “proximity to heaven.”
In Wyoming, Alberto found contentment in the peaceful home that he believed was a blessing from God. He frequently invited his family to visit, reveling in the tranquility of their new surroundings. He also knew he had found his new home when he was warmly embraced by his new church family at Cheyenne Evangelical Free Church.
Alberto Rosario Jr. is survived by his devoted wife Yadira, their children Raquel, Madeline & Alberto III, and six grandchildren: Christopher Daniel Rosado, Kelsey Marcella Rosado, Aaron Antony Rodriguez, Kimberly Rachel Rodriguez, Grace Madeline Rodriguez, and England Isabella Rosario. He also leaves behind two loving sisters and numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
