Alden E. Lanning, 78, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Sunday evening, November 22, 2015, at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. Mr. Lanning was born May 9, 1937, in Spirit Lake, Iowa, son of the late Harry E. and Anna M. (Glawe) Lanning. Alden spent most of his working career in Minnesota as a farmer and later a salesman for A.O.Smith Harvestore. In 1992, he moved to Johnstown, Colorado, and continued working as a salesman and later was self-employed in farm equipment sales until his retirement in 1998. He enjoyed spending winters in Why, Arizona, with his wife, Marilyn. His other interests were fishing, watching football and rodeo, and enjoying his dogs. Alden is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn (Blakeslee) Lanning of Cheyenne; two sons, Gary Lanning of Ft. Lupton, CO, and Grant Lanning of Seattle, WA; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. His family will be holding a memorial service on Sunday, November 29, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. at Happy Jack Community Church with Guy Landers officiating. Cremation is under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.
