Alexander Blane

November 13, 1925 — May 15, 2012

Blane, Alexander, 86, of Delray Beach, FL and Cheyenne WY passed away peacefully on May 15th. Alex was born in Kilmarnock Scotland and immigrated with his wife and oldest son Alex to New York in 1951. In addition to Scotland, Alex was a long time resident of Levittown, NY, Cheyenne, WY, and Delray Beach, FL. He proudly served in the Royal Air Force and was a skilled tool and tie machinist, including working with the team that developed the lunar module - he helped put the first man on the moon. Alex is survived by Ann his loving wife of 63 years, Children Alex (Susan) of Boston MA, Eileen of Ft Collins CO, Brian (Kathy) of Parker CO and Bill (Linda) of Dallas TX, Brother-in-Law Jim Symmonds and the Symmonds' family of Cheyenne; grandfather of 7 and great grandfather of eight. A ceremony was held at Seacrest Presbyterian Church in Delray Beach Florida and his final resting place will be in Cheyenne with a celebration of life officiated by Rev. Bob Garrard on Friday June 27th at noon at the Schrader Funeral Home, 2323 Carey. The family would like to offer special thanks to Rev. Garrard, Alex Aragon at Schrader's Funeral Home, and all the wonderful people at Hospice by the Sea in Boca Raton, FL.
