Alexandra (Bagatela) Hunter

April 22, 1937 — November 26, 2012

Alexandra Estelle (Bagatela) Hunter, 75, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, peacefully fell asleep on Monday, November 26, 2012, surrounded by her children and family following a courageous battle with cancer. Alexandra was born April 22, 1937, in Nea Koroni, Messinias, Greece, a daughter of the late George and Stavroula (Kokkinis) Bagatela. Alexandra immigrated to America at the age of 13, and lived most of her life in Cheyenne. She was an active member of Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church. She was also retired from the State of Wyoming, Department of Education. Alexandra is survived by her son, Jim Hunter of Los Angeles, California; two daughters, Cathy Hall and husband, Ed, of Cheyenne, and Christina Blooding and husband, Aaron, of Cheyenne; five grandchildren, Angela James, Melina Jackson, Jonathan Sawyer, Benjamin Sawyer and Alexandra Blooding; six great-grandchildren, Tyler Jackson, Arianna Marlin, Astashia Jackson, Amya Smith, Sophia Sawyer and Austin McLaughlin; one great-great grandson, Xavier Demetrius Rodriguez; and her former husband, Jack D. Hunter. She is preceded in death by her Thea Fotine Liakopoulos; her parents; two sisters, Maria Bagatela and Ananitsa Bagatela; and one great-granddaughter, MaKayla McLaughlin. Visitation is Wednesday, November 28, 2012, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a Trisagion Service to follow at 7:00 p.m. at the Schrader Chapel. The funeral will be conducted Thursday, November 29th at 10:00 a.m. at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church with Father Jason Dickey officiating. An interment service will follow at Beth El Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jim Hunter, Edward Hall, Aaron Blooding, Jonathan Sawyer, Benjamin Sawyer and Tyler Jackson. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home, Cheyenne.
