Mr. Alfred "Fang" A. Farrens, 79, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away early Thursday morning, August 4, 2011, at his home with his loving wife by his side. Mr. Farrens was born October 29, 1931, in Ft. Collins, Colorado, a son of the late Eldon and Naomi (Stevens) Farrens. After graduating from high school, Alfred enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge, he joined the local plumbers and pipefitters union and he worked as a plumber for more than 30 years for P.S. Cook, working most recently at Frontier Refinery as a superintendent. His interests included collecting guns and old cars. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather, and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Alfred is survived by his loving wife, Karina; seven children, Tamie, Sheri, Trish, Michael, Diana, Janet and Mary Ann; and seven grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, August 7th from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Schrader Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted at the Mountain View Memorial Park Cemetery interment center on Monday, August 8th at 10:00 a.m. with The Reverend Bob Garrard officiating.
