Alfred Gale

Alfred J. Gale, 87, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Monday morning, June 19, 2017, at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne. Alfred was born November 4, 1929, in Berthoud, Colorado, a son of the late William and Cynthia Gale. Alfred was raised in North Platte, Nebraska. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 42 years, retiring as a diesel shop maintenance foreman in North Platte. He married his wife, Virginia, on March 22, 1986. They moved from North Platte to Cheyenne in 1998. Al loved to fish. He and Virginia enjoyed many years of fishing together, mostly for Walleye, in Nebraska and Wyoming. He will be remembered as a very generous man who dearly loved his children and grandchildren. His greatest desire was fulfilled when he went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Alfred is survived by his loving wife, Virginia; two children, Judy Kayser and husband, Scott, and John Gale and wife, Edith Ellen; two step-children, Jack Spiker and wife, Karen, and Jim Spiker; a brother, Bud Gale and wife, Tootie; two sisters, Pat Jergensen and Ruth Kalb and husband, Al; nine grandchildren, Heather and husband, Richard, Rebekah and husband, Kevin, Rachel, Joel, Marianne and husband, Marc, Jeff and wife, Kristen, and Scott, Greg and wife, Julie, and Brian and wife, Teresa; and numerous great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Kenneth Gale, William Gale, Darrell Gale and Calvin Gale. A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, June 23, 2017, at 12:00 p.m. at the North Platte City Cemetery with Pastor Jeremy Rinke officiating.
