Alice Bahn

September 3, 1916 — January 5, 2012

Alice I. Bahn of Livingston, Montana, died of natural causes January 5, 2012 at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Alice was born September 3, 1916, in Bainville, Montana, the daughter of Oscar and Sadie Romo. She attended elementary school at Lakeside and graduated from Bainville High School in 1935. She also attended college at Havre, Montana, and received her teaching certificate there. She then taught school at Damm School north of Culbertson, Montana and at Lakeside School. As a young adult, Alice also worked as a sales clerk at the Montgomery Wards store in Williston, North Dakota, (and later in Livingston, Montana), and as a telephone operator in Culbertson, Montana and other small northeastern Montana communities and Livingston, Montana. On December 28, 1946, Alice married Lester E. (Bill) Bahn in Bainville, Montana. She eventually retired from Mountain Bell Telephone Company in 1982 after many years of service as a telephone operator. Alice is survived by her daughter, Beverly Roberts of Cheyenne, Wyoming, her son, Lawrence Bahn of Eugene, Oregon, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one older brother, Walter Romo of Saco, Montana and numerous nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her parents - Oscar and Sadie Romo; five brothers - Francis Romo, Edwin Romo, Lester Romo, Paul Romo, and Clarence Romo; and her husband, Lester E. (Bill) Bahn. A memorial service is pending.
