Alice Northcutt

January 13, 1922 — September 26, 2015

Alice T. Northcutt, 93, of Cheyenne died September 26, 2015 at Denver Swedish Hospital. She was born in Cheyenne on January 13, 1922, to Theodore and Justine Anderson. She attended local schools and graduated from Cheyenne High School in 1939. She transferred from the University of Wyoming to Colorado College, joined the Gamma Phi Beta sorority, receiving a Bachelor's degree in Art History in 1943. Alice moved back to Cheyenne and worked as a passenger agent for United Airlines. She married Delbert Northcutt in 1945 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church and remained married for 34 years until his death in 1979. She then managed their real estate properties. She also worked in the Bill Room at the Wyoming State Legislature. Alice enjoyed many adventures, traveling extensively with family and friends. Alice was an active club member in her hometown. She was a charter member of Women's Civic League and the Crow Creek Chapter of Questers. She also was a member of Zonta Club and Chapter AD of PEO. Alice was an astute business woman, masterful bridge player, and loyal friend. She was thoughtful, kind and generous to all who crossed her path. Her family and little dog, Toby, brought her pure joy. She is survived by daughters, Alison (Mark) Miller of Anacortes, WA and Barbara (Pete) Laybourn of Cheyenne; brother, Charles Anderson of Cheyenne and grandchildren, Jackson Laybourn, Kyle Miller, Brooke (Nik) Amyx and Kaye Miller She was preceded by her husband; parents; brothers, Ted and Bill Anderson. Those who wish may contribute to St. Mark's Episcopal Church. Services are Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church followed by an interment in Lakeview Cemetery. Services are under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.
