Alice Taylor

Mrs. Alice J. (Stewart) Taylor, 76, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Taylor was born April 2, 1936, in Phippsburg, Colorado, a daughter of the late Harry and Rachel (Chambers) Stewart. Alice was a graduate of the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor's degree in education. She worked a number of years for Mountain Bell and later was employed as a teacher in Carpenter, WY, and for Johnson Junior High School as a 7th and 8th grade English teacher. She married Darrell "John" Taylor on July 3, 1956, and they lived in Cheyenne for the entire period of their marriage until John's death in September 2, 2003. Her numerous interests included playing Bridge, reading, doing puzzles, and traveling, particularly to Florida to visit her son's family and to spoil her two granddaughters. Alice is survived by her daughter, Barbara Willoughby and her husband, Randall, of Cheyenne; her son, Robert Taylor and his wife, Erin, of Casselberry, FL; two granddaughters, Anna Taylor and Samantha Taylor; her brother, Dr. L.M. Stewart and his wife, Gloria of Cheyenne; two nieces, Deanna Thomas and Pam Stein; and one nephew, Richard Stewart. She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Darrell "John" Taylor; and two brothers, Howard Stewart and Henry Stewart. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Schrader Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, October 22nd at 10:30 a.m. at the Schrader Chapel with The Reverend Elizabeth McVicker officiating. Interment will immediately follow at the Cheyenne Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy in Alice's memory may be made to the Interfaith Family Support Services, formerly Family Promise Cheyenne, 2950 Spruce Drive, Cheyenne, WY 82001. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home, Cheyenne.
