Andrea Zakis

Andrea Ann Zakis, 77, of Cheyenne passed away with her children by her side on August 10, 2015. She was born March 22, 1938, in Doddington, Isle of Ely, England. She was the firstborn child of George Frederick Garner Edgeley and Alexandra May (Carman) Edgeley. Andrea married Stephen Vincent Zakis in Kings Lynn, England, on September 24, 1955. After moving often with the military, the family settled down in Cheyenne. Andrea's favorite pastimes were making cookies for the children of the Good News Club and cooking for friends. She loved her book club and church friends, nature and gardening, knitting and crocheting, camping and fishing, and was a very loyal Broncos fan. She wanted everyone to remember her as a person who never knew a stranger. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister; her husband; and her son, Vincent John Zakis in 1995. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Dinnel of Wauneta, NE; son, Stephen Zakis of Hillsdale, WY; daughter, Roberta Townsend of Victoria, TX; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends on Friday, August 14th at 10:00 a.m. at the Mountain View Memorial Park Interment Center with a graveside service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Donations in Andrea's name may be made to Davis Hospice Center.
