Andrew Eickbush

Andrew Alan "Andy" Eickbush, 60, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2011, in Cheyenne. Andy was born April 10, 1951, in Cheyenne to parents Francis and Eunice Eickbush, Sr. He lived in Cheyenne until his family moved to Casper, WY where he graduated from high school in 1969. He attended college at Ft. Hayes State in Kansas. Andy worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 35 years, working in Utah, Wyoming and Colorado. He retired from the railroad in August. Andy married Susan Hunt on December 6, 1981, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In October the couple celebrated 30 years of marriage with a trip to Florida. He enjoyed traveling, working in the yard, watching his sons grow up, playing with his granddaughter, playing with the family dogs, and he was learning to cook. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Rocky Mountain Lodge #40. He was an Eagle Scout and supported his family in scouting events. Andy is survived by his loving wife, Susan of Cheyenne; a son Drew and wife, Maggie, and their daughter, Ella Ruth of Ft. Drum, NY; a son, Alan of Cheyenne; a brother, Fran and wife, Pauline, of the Dominican Republic; a sister, Susan Long and husband, Bill, of Cheyenne; a sister-in-law, Sharon, and brother-in-law Gary Rinker of Recluse, Wyoming; and six nephews He was preceded in death by his parents; a nephew Daniel; and a sister-in-law, Candyce Lee. A memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday, November 15, 2011, at 4:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with The Reverend Elizabeth McVicker officiating and Francis Eickbush, Jr. assisting. The interment will be held at Lakeview Cemetery Tuesday at 2:00 pm prior to services. Cremation is under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy in Andy's memory may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, Fairfax Rd. at Viginia St., Salt Lake City, UT 84103.
