Angie White

Angelina G. Lagos White, 93, of Cheyenne died Oct. 3 at her home in Cheyenne. Angie was born Oct. 8, 1917, in Hartville, Wyoming, to a Greek immigrant family, the daughter of Constantine John and Georgia Hasapedis Lagos. She was the sixth of eight children. She lived in Hartville most of her young life where her family owned a grocery store and bakery. She graduated from Sunrise High School in 1935. While in high school, Angie enjoyed playing sports, especially basketball. Angie moved to Cheyenne in 1944 where she met Robert E. White. The couple married on Sept. 15, 1953, in Laramie and was married 50 years before his death. They had two children, Michael Charles White and Robert William White. Angie worked for the State of Wyoming for the Wyoming Travel Commission and retired in 1980. She attended First United Methodist Church. Angie enjoyed watching her grandchildren play softball, bowling, watching sports on TV and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Constantine and Georgia Lagos; husband, Robert (Bob) White; sister, Calliope G. Lagos Terovolas; and brothers, Pete C. Lagos, John C. Lagos, Jim C. Lagos and Alex C. Lagos. Angie is survived by her sons, Michael White and Robert White; daughter-in-law Sue White, grandchildren Lindsey White, Caitlin White, Sarah White and John White; great-grandchild Addison John White; two brothers Bill C. Lagos and Nick C. Lagos; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be Thursday 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Schrader Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Friday 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Trudy Robinson and the Reverend Richard Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow in Beth El Cemetery with Father George Gartelos of Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church officiating the Committal Service Pallbearers are John Thomas White, David Barr, Sean Barr, Michael Barr, John Yeamans and Fidel Munoz. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Davis Hospice Center or the Cheyenne Animal Shelter.
