Anna Shrove

July 11, 1937 — June 1, 2012

Anna "Jane" Shrove, 74, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 1, 2012. She was born July 11, 1937 in Ft. Collins, Co to Roy and Anna Ruth Roberts. She grew up in Waverly, CO located just north of Ft.Collins, CO moving to Cheyenne in 1956. She married the love of her life, Donald Shrove, on June 30, 1956 sharing almost 56 years in wedded bliss together. Jane was intensely devoted to her family and friends. She enjoyed reading, embroidery, and cross-stitched, but reserved working with children- especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren-as her lifelong passion and love. Her love of children led her to work in the daycare industry for more than 25 years touching the lives of many children in the Cheyenne area. Many of those years were spent at Bo Peep and New Generation Daycare Centers. She was an active member of The First United Methodist Church, A Past Matron of Oakleaf Chapter #6 OES and Burns Chapter # 47 OES, White Shrine, as well as giving her time and efforts as a volunteer with the Cheyenne RSVP program. Jane is survived by her husband Donald and her five children Dawn (John) Greve of Norfolk, NE, Roy (Glecy) Shrove of San Antonio, TX, Karen (Neil) Fisher of Waterloo, IA, Bryan (Wendy) Shrove and Sherri (Doug) McCoy, both of Cheyenne; nine grandchildren; twelve great- grand children; and three siblings, Irene Patterson and Rosalie Smith of Cheyenne and Allen Roberts of Seattle, WA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Anna Ruth Roberts. Pallbearers will be Matt Greve, Greg Greve, Robert Fisher, Chris Fisher, Jerry Turpin, Freddy Padilla and Steve Luhman. A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with The Reverend Elizabeth McVicker officiating. An interment service will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Donations may be made to Scottish Rite Children's Language Clinic, 1820 Capitol Avenue, Cheyenne, WY 82001, in Jane's honor.
