Anna B. Somlyay, 80, of Cheyenne, WY died March 16, 2014 at Davis Hospice Center. She was born December 11, 1933 in Hungary to Louis and Julianna Benedek. She married Laszlo Somlyay on December 2, 1956 in Vienna Austria. During the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, Anna and her family fled to the United States, settling in Trenton and Ewing New Jersey, where she raised her family. Anna was well known for her extraordinary green thumb. Her home was the host of countless pool parties and family celebration. During her retirement, Anna and her husband enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the United States and Europe. She is survived by her husband, Laszlo Somlyay, Sr. of Cheyenne; children, Laszlo (Janet) Somlyay, Jr. of Laramie and Helen Pfeiffer of Burlington, NJ; grandchildren, Jozsef Pfeiffer, Jr. of Burlington, NJ, Laszlo Somlyay, III of Laramie and Evana Somlyay of Laramie; sister, Priscilla Simonenko of North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Alex Benedek, Dominic Benedek, Gasper Benendek, Louis Benedek and Esther Wolf and a son-in-law Jozsef Pfeiffer, Sr. Visitation will be Thursday, March 20th at 6:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7:30 all at Schrader Funeral Home. Cremation will follow under the care of Schrader Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers, please donate in memory of Anna to National Jewish Health In Denver 1400 Jackson St., Denver, CO 80206 to further the research on lung disease.
