Anthony G. Andrikopoulos, 82, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 11, 2015. Anthony was born April 21, 1932, to Margaret E. (Roman) Andrikopoulos and George B. Andrikopoulos in Greeley, Colorado. Anthony graduated in 1950 from Cheyenne High School and in 1956 he earned a BS in Marketing and Economics from the University of Wyoming. From 1950 to 1958, Anthony served in the Naval Reserve as a radio operator/photographer for the VF-711 Fighter Squadron at Buckley Field in Denver. In 1960, Anthony went into business for himself as a landman and entrepreneur in the oil and gas business. Fifty five years, numerous adventures, booms and busts, and many a dry hole later, A. G. Andrikopoulos Resources, Inc. is still active in oil and gas exploration. Anthony was active in many industry organizations - Denver Association of Professional Landmen, American Association of Professional Landman, Western Energy Alliance, Independent Petroleum Association of America and the Mountain States Legal Foundation. He was inducted into the Rocky Mountain Oil and Gas Hall of Fame on September 26, 2009. Anthony served on the board of directors of First Wyoming Bank and several charitable organizations: Opera Colorado, Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra, Denim and Diamonds Honorary Chair with Barbara and LCCC Foundation. Anthony and Barbara served as chairmen of the Matching the Spirit scholarship fund drive for the LCCC Foundation. Anthony was involved in service to the Greek Orthodox Church locally as a life member and former board member at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Cheyenne, and is currently a member of the Holy Apostles Orthodox Christian Church of Cheyenne. Nationally, Anthony was active on the Archdiocesan Council in New York, the Denver Metropolis Diocesan Council, a member of the Denver Metropolis Advocates 100, a member of the Orthodox Christian Laity, a member of Leadership 100, and was appointed Archon Depoutatos in 1982 in the Order of St Andrew the Apostle, the highest honor a layperson can attain in the orthodox church. Anthony founded the Patriarch Athenagoras National Institute and youth retreat at Harriman, Wyoming, was a founding member of St. Catherine Greek Orthodox Church in Denver, and most recently was a founding member of the Holy Apostles Orthodox Christian Church in Cheyenne. Anthony was also a former member of Sts. Constantine and Helen, Cardiff By The Sea, CA. Anthony enjoyed his family, travel, skiing, fishing and shooting. He leaves behind many friends from coast to coast. Anthony is survived by his wife of 27 years, Barbara Fiske Andrikopoulos; daughters, Kari Kay Andrikopoulos of Santa Fe, NM, and Toni Lynn Andrikopoulos of Silver City, NM; grandsons, Alexi Bergeron of Vancouver, BC, and Entheos Bellas of Seattle, WA; brother, John G. (Judy) Andrikopoulos of Daniel, WY; sister-in-law, Sue Andrikopoulos; nephews, George (Michelle) Andrikopoulos and Shaun (Betty) Andrikopoulos; nieces, Vicki Bruner, Diane Andrikopoulos and Alysia Andrikopoulos; cousins, Ben Roman, Keith (Myrna) Roman, Alan (Nancy) Roman and Kathleen Roman; stepchildren, Jeff (Christine) Fiske, Greg (Laura) Fiske and Tim (Sally) Fiske; and many other family members. Anthony was predeceased by his brother, Basil Andrikopoulos and his parents. Visitation will be Monday, April 13, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Holy Apostles Orthodox Christian Church with a Trisagion to begin at 6:30 p.m. at the church. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, April 14th at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Apostles Orthodox Christian Church. An interment service will follow at Beth El Cemetery.
