A Funeral Liturgy will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Ronald J. Hoye, C.M. celebrating. Anton (Tony) Kronberger 95, of Cheyenne died October 6, 2010 at Life Care Center of Cheyenne. Tony was born April 28, 1915 in Lefor, N.D., to John and Gertrude (Grundhauser) Kronberger. He lived and worked on the family farm near Selfridge, N.D. and as a young man served in the Civilian Conversation Corps in Wapeton, N.D. Tony was a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways for many years based out of Bismarck, N.D. and proudly won the Two-Million Mile Award for outstanding safety. He was transferred to Dickinson, N.D, where he was promoted to Terminal Manager which also took him and his family to live in Rawlins, WY, Denver, CO and finally Cheyenne. He later worked for Salt Creek Freightways in Cheyenne. Tony also worked for the State of Wyoming in the Department of Administration and Information as a custodian until his retirement in 1983. Tony married Margaret Louise Smith in Mandan, N.D. on June 27, 1940. They were married for 68 years until Margaret’s death in 2009. He is survived by their 6 children; a son, Gale (Mary) Kronberger, daughters Merilou Miller, Joyce (Gordon) Schaffer, Verna (Tom) Scott, Linda (Bob) Galik and Carol (Robin) Day, all of Cheyenne; brothers Matt (Lorraine) Kronberger of Bismarck, N.D., and Nick (Ilo) Kronberger, of Vancouver, Washington, sisters Helen Mossett, of Selfridge, N.D., Lena Yergler of Saint Maries, ID, Ann Neidiger, of Anaheim, CA, Kay Carter of Santa Ana, CA , Eva Sedevie of Bowman, N.D. and Gertie Kraft of Mandan, N.D.; sister-in-law Florence Harpley and brother-in-law Veldron (Jan) Smith; grandchildren Charlie Swainson of Cheyenne, Ron (Kelli) Swainson of Anthem, AZ, Lori (Derek) Hart of Lolo, MT, Stacy (Taylor) Jones of Rock Springs, Rob (Andrea) Galik, Holly (Jason) Wolfe, Sean (Renee) Conner, Jeff (Misty) Swainson, Tony Galik, all of Cheyenne, Krissy (Josh) Gilmore of Denver, CO, Tommy Scott of Laramie, Mindy (Sean) Gray of Valdosta, GA, Pete Miller, Jesse (Shannon) Kronberger both from Cheyenne, Andrea (Nate) Howard, Katie (Mark) Parten both of Ft. Collins, CO, and Stefanie Day of Cheyenne; 31 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. He was loved and cherished as head of the Kronberger family and will be greatly missed. Tony was preceded in death by his wife Margaret, parents John and Gertrude Kronberger; brothers Frank and Joe Kronberger; son-in-law Mike Miller; and great grandson Josh Hegel. Interment will follow in Olivet Cemetery.
