Argie Talagan

Argie Talagan, 79, of Cheyenne died March 9, 2014 at Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne. She was born August 9, 1934 in Cheyenne. Argie graduated from Cheyenne High School, in 1952. She attended Colorado Women's College in Denver, and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Northern Colorado in 1956. Argie was a teacher in Laramie County School District #1 for many years. She taught at Clark, Goins, Lebhart and Fairview Elementary Schools. She was a member of Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church and was involved with the church choir and Philoptohos philanthropic organization. She is survived by her husband, Fr. Dean P. Talagan, children Stacie (Marc) Wade of Sugar Land, TX; Paul (Kristi)Talagan of Saugus, MA; a brother Paul (Pat) Lafkas; grandchildren Angela Wade, of Washington D.C., Miles Wade of Houston, TX, and Barbara Argyro Talagan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Angela Lafkas. Friends who wish may donate to Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, PO Box 112, Cheyenne, WY 82003 or Davis Hospice Center, 6000 Sycamore Rd., Cheyenne, WY 82009. Pallbearers are John Contos, William Langlas, Dr. A.J. Meares, Vince Porreco, Miles Wade, Steve Zaharas and Dr. Thomas Zumo. Honorary Pallbearers are Anthony Andrikopoulos, George Ballas, Dean Borthwick, William Langlas, Robert Marek, George Zaharas and Charles Zumo. Visitation is Wednesday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Schrader Funeral Home. Trisagion Services will be Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church. Funeral Services are Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church with Fr. Jason Dickey officiating. Interment will follow in Beth El Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the church. Services are under the care of Schrader Funeral Home.
