Arthur "George" Georgelas, also fondly known as Uncle and Uncie, passed away on December 6, 2023, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He was born on November 5, 1944, in Lynn, Massachusetts.
Arthur lived a remarkable life characterized by his unwavering dedication to his Lord Jesus, Church, family and community. He served in the United States Airforce for 20 years, where he demonstrated true patriotism and commitment to his country. His military service shaped him into a disciplined and honorable individual.
After his time in the Airforce, Arthur became an Associate with the National Business Association and was awarded the Small Business Champion of the Year in 2005. His dedication and hard work in the field were acknowledged and celebrated by his peers.
Arthur's generosity knew no bounds. He was always willing to go the extra mile for others, spreading kindness and love wherever he went. In his spare time, he found solace in spending time with his beloved pets—both cats and dogs—who brought him immense joy.
One of Arthur's greatest passions was his involvement with North Cheyenne Baptist Church. He loved fellowship and cherished every moment spent with his church family. As a devoted member of the congregation, where he served as a deacon, Arthur actively contributed to leading the Senior Adult Ministries. He also took pride in being a Gideon member.
Outside of his church activities, Arthur committed himself to various community organizations. He selflessly served as a member of the Lions club, where he continued to touch lives through acts of kindness.
Arthur's outstanding educational achievements reflected his dedication to personal growth. He cultivated a wealth of knowledge through experience and always sought opportunities to learn more.
In this time of grief when we mourn Arthur's loss deeply, let us reflect on how he touched our lives and made us better individuals through his love and compassion. His memory will forever inspire us to be kinder and more generous towards others.
Arthur is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Gove Georgelas, of St. Paul Nebraska. His God daughter Tia Lake Garcia (Paul) her childern Londyn and Laken, and her extended family. They held a special place in his heart. His extended family includes his nieces and nephews, Melissa Georgelas Verrigni, Pamela Salls (Scott), Michelle Mahoney (Bill), Arthur Georgelas, Bobby Salls (Joy) and their extended families of grand and great nieces and nephews.
Arthur was preceded in death by his mother Bettina Bliss Georgelas (1912-2005), father Arther Georgelas SR (1912-1958), brother Nick Georgelas (Helena) (1937-2010), brother George Georgelas (August 26, 1973), sister Donalyn Georgelas Salls (Bob) (1932-2013), and his first wife Betty Gravitt Georgelas (1967-2002).
To honor the memory of Arthur Georgelas and celebrate his life well-lived, a viewing will be held on December 9th, 2023 from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the North Cheyenne Baptist Church located at 5912 Weaver Rd in Cheyenne, Wyoming. A funeral service to follow immediately from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM at the same location. A reception will be held for all to attend.
On this day of remembrance for Arthur's remarkable journey on earth, let us come together to celebrate his legacy of kindness and remember how he touched each of our lives. May he rest in eternal peace knowing that he made a profound impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
