Atlas Hammonds

Atlas L. Hammonds, 88, of Oak Grove, AR & Torrington, WY died July 31 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center in Cheyenne. He was born February 13, 1924 in Cisco, AR to Walter and Amanda Hammonds. He married Charlotte Foreman on January 23, 1996 in Pharr, TX. He was a member of the American Legion in Arkansas. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Foreman of Torrington, WY and Oak Grove, AR; daughter, Diana Black of Oak Grove, AR and Bellingham, WA; grandchildren Megan (Justin) Sobchuk of Phoenix, AZ and Alison Black of Phoenix, AZ; great-grandchildren, Carson James Sobchuk and Jameson Atlas Sobchuk. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ellen Hammonds; parents, Walter and Amanda Hammonds; and a sisters, Lena Lopes and an infant sister. Those who wish may contribute to American Lung Association. Cremation has taken place under the care of Schrader Funeral Home in Cheyenne and private family services will be held.
