Barbara Lucero

Mrs. Barbara R. (Hockenberger) Lucero, 68, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away at her home Tuesday evening, August 12, 2014, following a period of failing health. Mrs. Lucero was born April 17, 1946, in Loveland, CO, a daughter of the late Issac and Barbara E. Hockenberger. Barbara moved to Cheyenne with her family in the early 1950s and attended school in both Loveland and Cheyenne. She worked as a civil servant in the commissary at F.E. Warren Air Force Base. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Mary's Cathedral and she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Frank Lucero, Sr. of Cheyenne; three children, Frank Lucero, Jr. and wife, Susan, of Cheyenne; Regina Lucero Hernandez and husband, Jose, of Santa Fe, NM, and Rudy Junior Torres and wife, Julia, of Cheyenne; twelve grandchildren, Joseph, Jacob, Stephanie and husband, Mike, Stacy and husband, Cory, Issac and wife, Bea, Jessica, Desi, Rudy III, Ray Ray, Ritchie, Raquel and Alexandra; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Christopher Lucero; three sisters; and two brothers. Visitation will be Monday, August 18, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Schrader Funeral Home, 2222 Russell Ave. A Vigil for the Deceased will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader Funeral Home with Father Thomas George officiating. A reception will immediately follow at the Schrader Reception Center. Expressions of sympathy in Barbara's memory may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital or St. Mary's Cathedral. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home, Cheyenne.
