Mrs. Barbara Jean (Brown) Otto, 84, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Monday evening at her home in the presence of loved ones on December 16, 2013. Mrs. Otto was born January 22, 1929, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, a daughter of the late Ira J. and Marie (Rummel) Brown. Barbara was the anchor that held her extended family together and loved to entertain and cook for her family during the holidays. She thoroughly enjoyed bowling, shopping and spending time with family members including the family dogs. She loved decorating her home for all the holidays and spent most of her life as a homemaker and secretary for the family owned businesses that she was instrumental in starting with her husband in 1952. She will be remembered as a generous person to all who crossed her path and will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Barbara is survived by her only son, Jay and fiancée, Beverly DeHerrera, of Cheyenne; two sisters, Elaine Ungericht and Maxine Keefe of Cheyenne; a brother, Jim Brown of Wheatland; her devoted caretaker, Mirna; and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Glenn G. Otto; four brothers, Nile, Don, Mickey and Dwight Brown; and a sister, Shirley Homan. A Memory Service will be held on Friday, December 20, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the Schrader Chapel. An interment service will immediately follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home, Cheyenne.
