Beatrice "Bee" Callahan

Mrs. Beatrice "Bee" E. (Koory) Callahan, 95, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away early Sunday morning, March 27, 2011, at Life Care Center of Cheyenne. Mrs. Callahan was born August 10, 1915, in Omaha, Nebraska, a daughter of the late McKaber and Amena (Ablan) Koory. Bee served as Past President of the American Lung Association and with the assistance of her late husband, Edward T. Callahan, she co-founded the Cheyenne Polo Club. She owned and operated Bea Callahan Realty as a real estate broker and insurance agent, and she was very active in the Wyoming Democratic Party. Her other interests included serving as an active parishioner of St. Mary's Cathedral and spending time with her family and enjoying her dog, Shufee. She will always be remembered for her quick wit, exuberant laugh, and for the love and caring she bestowed to all around her. Bee is survived by five daughters, Mary O'Fallon of South Carolina, Cathy Grove of Cheyenne, Patty Williams of Highlands Ranch, CO, Suzanne Adams of Parker, CO, and Bridgette Callahan of Cheyenne; a brother, Richard Koory of Omaha, NE; fourteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Edward T. Callahan; a daughter, Claudia Knott; seven sisters; and one brother. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. at the Schrader Funeral Home with a Vigil for the Deceased on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at the Schrader Chapel. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 30th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral with Father Gary J. Ruzicka as celebrant. An interment service will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Bee's memory may be made to Meals-on-Wheels, 2015 South Greeley Highway, Cheyenne, WY 82007.
