Betty Jean Powell

Betty Jean Powell, 73, of Cheyenne WY, passed away on Dec. 7, 2022, in the comfort of her home.

Betty was born on April 16, 1949 in the village of Potsdam NY.  She moved to Cheyenne circa 1980 with her husband and children making it her forever home.

Betty was a hard working, stoic women who showed a tough exterior that encased a gentle soul. When not at work she loved to watch tv, put together a puzzle and was always ready for a good card game.  She will be remembered for her laugh and her signature “flipping” the bird. 

Her memory will live on in her children, Michael (April) Matthie,  Debra Powell (Wayne Tubbs) and her grandchildren Britany Hartshorn, Joshua Tubbs, Brianna Matthie, and Mikey Matthie.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Powell, as well as other family and friends, who now welcome her into the gates of heaven.

An intimate memorial dinner will be held in honor of Betty’s life amongst her aforementioned surviving family members.

May she live on forever in the hearts and minds of those who knew her, and may she rest easy, full of love and light.
