Betty was born May 6, 1948, in Hazen, North Dakota, a daughter of Harold and Helen (Sailer) Ziemann. Betty was a hard worker and she was employed with AT&T Broadband in Denver for a number of years before moving to Cheyenne to be with her family where she worked as a call center assistant manager for Warren Federal Credit Union. Her many interests included baking cookies with her grandchildren during the holidays, quilting, sewing, playing the slot machines, enjoying the outdoors and the smell of the pine trees, drinking a glass of wine and making crafts. She also enjoyed her membership with Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Betty is survived by four children, Jennifer Hinton and husband, Kelley, of Cheyenne, Jason Thomas and wife, Renee, of Cheyenne, Joi-Maree Freeman and husband, Daniel, of Cheyenne, and Amy Brunvand and husband, Scott, of Durango, CO; her mother, Helen Ziemann of Cheyenne; her sister, Barbara Cisneros of Denver, CO; two brothers, Mark Ziemann and Jerome Ziemann, both of Cheyenne; five grandchildren; and her former husband, Thomas L. Thomas. She is preceded in death by her father, Harold Ziemann, and a brother, Stuart Ziemann. A memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the Schrader Chapel with a reception to immediately follow at the Schrader Reception Center. Cremation is under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home. Because red, white and blue were Betty's favorite colors, the family requests that those attending the memorial service are welcome to wear a combination of those colors to celebrate Betty's memory. Expressions of sympathy in Betty's memory may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
