Mrs. Billie J. (Smith) Cooke, 89, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014, at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Cooke was born March 5, 1925, in Wichita Falls, TX, a daughter to the late Carroll James and Alice Jeannette (Moore) Smith. Billie lived most of her life Texas, moving to Wyoming in 1987. She worked as an orthodontist's assist for 20 years until her retirement. Her many interests included dancing, playing tennis and cards, and watching sports on television. She also enjoyed volunteering for the Rawlins hospital and recreational center. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her family and friends. Billie is survived by her son, Weldon Cooke of Evansville, WY; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Marvin J. Cooke; and two sisters. A private family service will be held at a later date. Cremation is under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home.
