Bonnie Bastian, 89, of Burns, Wyoming, passed away November 16, 2016, at her home. She was born on February 21, 1927, in Mahaska, Kansas, daughter of Milford and Anna Gaston. Her family moved to the Lindberg, WY area in 1928. She attended the Golden Prairie School through 10th grade and graduated from Pine Bluffs High School in 1945. She married Theodore "Ben" Bastian on September 5, 1945, at the First Presbyterian Church in Burns. She was a homemaker and lived on the family farm east of Burns until her death. Bonnie accepted the Lord as her Savior when she was four years old at Bible school. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Burns and was their pianist for many years. She also taught Sunday school and Bible school. Bonnie enjoyed many activities including square dancing, bridge and bowling. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, Sweet Adelines and Eastern Star, where she served as Worthy Matron in 1958. Bonnie and Ben traveled extensively. They wintered in Florida for many years, where they developed many close friendships. Bonnie is survived by her husband; three children, Ted Bastian (Jeanette) of Burns, Suzanne Smith of Cheyenne, and Jeff Bastian (Gloria) of Garland, Texas; five grandchildren, Curt Bastian (Concitta) of Burns, Lori Romsa (Scott) of Burns, Mike Smith (Stephanie Irwin) of Wellington, Colorado, Robin Lockman (Rex) of Cheyenne, and Zachary Bastian (Ariel Earls) of Denton, Texas; seven great- grandchildren, Angela, Priscilla, Michelle, Josh, Sarah, Brandon and Travis; one great-great granddaughter, Victoria; sister-in-law, Leona Gaston; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Francis "Bud" Gaston; sister, Leona Woolington; and son-in-law, Glenn Smith. A memory service will be celebrated on Monday, November 28, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. A reception will follow at the Schrader Reception Center. A private interment will be held in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
