Candace Lee "Candy" Thaysen of Cheyenne passed at her home on Sunday evening the 30th of March.
She was preceded by her Mother Iris, Father Kenneth, and brother tommy.
Candy was afflicted with advanced head and neck cancer. She came home from the hospital 3 days prior as it was her wish to be in her own home with her husband Bill and their two young cats.
Candy was born on December 18, 1956, in Miami, Florida.
She was married to William "Bill" Fitterman, DO in Cheyenne on August 21, 2017. Solar eclipse day.
Candy grew up in Hialeah, Florida and received a degree in Education and taught Junior high school for a time. She had also been a model, a production assistant for a local a.m. tv show and other jobs. Candy then found her niche in the travel industry. First, assisting cruise line passengers from the airport to their ships, then as a tour guide and finally worked for a travel agency.
Even though she was brutally honest, Candy made friends with people wherever she went.
She had a special affinity for animals. In fact, as a teen, she was offered a position at the Miami Seaquarium as an apprentice marine mammal trainer. Unfortunately, her Mom was worried about her "being eaten by a whale". Candy spent practically the rest of her life rescuing and taming all manner of critters.
Candy met her future husband Bill in her last year of College. Due to his shyness, he waited too long to ask her out. She had started dating someone just two weeks before. Bill regretted it for 43 years. Finally, contact was made thru Facebook, and they were married a short time later.
She came home from the hospital 3days prior as it was her wish to be in her own home with her husband Bill and their two young cats.
