Carl C. Tomich, 79, of Cheyenne, WY and Eden, WY, died January 7, 2012, of post surgical complications at Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne. He was born: July 23, 1932 in Quealy, Wyoming to Joseph and Mary (Povh) Tomich. The family homesteaded in Eden, where he graduated from the Eden School in 1950. Carl served in the Army during the Korean War in Seattle, then graduated from The University of Wyoming with a Masters in Agronomy. He married Violet Smith and had a daughter and two sons. They later divorced. Carl served 17 years on the Western Wyoming College Board of Trustees during its construction on College Hill. He was the RC&D Project Coordinator for the Soil Conversation Service in Sweetwater County for 32 years, and spent many years surveying for fields and canals. He also coordinated the pivot plan in Eden Valley. He loved farming in Eden with his son, and he and his brothers planted many of the trees in Eden Valley. He married Carol (Tomjack) Koritnik on January 12, 1990 and they spent 22 years on their land in Eden and Cheyenne. Carl is survived by his wife, Carol L. Tomich, of Cheyenne, and his children and their spouses: Karl Tomich of Casper, Debra Jo Tomich of Rock Springs, Andrew and wife Roxanne Tomich of Eden, Louis and Wendy Koritnik of Rock Springs, Brett and Vicki Koritnik of Denver, and Dean and Sheila Schilling of Loveland, Colorado, along with 21 grandchildren and 2 great grand children. He was preceded in his death by his parents, 4 brothers and 5 sisters. He is survived by his oldest sibling, Joe Tomich of Jackson, Wyoming and sister in law, Gloria Tomich of Rock Springs. Carl's family will be holding a rosary at St. Josephs, 603 House Ave. Cheyenne at 7:00 PM Tuesday, January 10, 2012. Services will be Saturday, January 14 at 11 AM at the Eden Valley Community Center in Farson, WY, with a family rosary in the Rivers Room at 10:30.
