Carol Lee Baker, 73, passed away December 16 at the Davis Hospice Care Center. Carol was born December 24, 1938, in Cheyenne to Gaylord William and Nellie Gertrude (Morse) Corbett. She married Charles Jack Baker on February 16, 1958, and they had three children. A life-long resident of Cheyenne, Carol was actively involved in Eastern Star for many years and served as Worthy Matron. She also loved working as a Girl Scout leader and devoted her life to raising children, a grandchild (whom they later adopted) and two great-grandchildren. She had an infectious laugh that we all loved. Carol is survived by her husband Jack, their four children: Debbie (Bob) Beck of Laramie, James Baker, John (Joan) Baker, and Angela (James) Marquardt, all of Cheyenne; grandchildren Kristian (Heather Melone) Baker of Ft. Collins, CO, Christine (Nathan Gasser) Baker of Thornton, CO, Jeremy Baker and Elizabeth Baker, both of Cheyenne; and two great-grandchildren, Cody and Rebecca Fletcher. She is now reunited with her parents and three sisters: Betty, Patricia and Gay Jo, and is survived by siblings Shirley Russell (Sandy, UT), Stanley Corbett (Coudersport, PA), Steve Corbett (Milton, FL), Belinda Moench (Cheyenne), Judy Rawstern (Lebanon, OR); and David Corbett (Baltimore, MD). A memorial service will be held at a later date for family and close friends. Cremation has taken place under the care of Schrader Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Davis Hospice Care Center or to the American Cancer Society.
