Carolyn S. Holmes

On Dec 26th, 1945, Carolyn Sue (Burkey) Holmes was born in Princeton, Missouri to Olin and Ruby Burkey.

At a young age, the family relocated to Independence, Missouri, where she attended school, graduating in 1964. During her high school years she met her future husband, Gary Holmes. They married June 20th, 1964, going on to have two daughters Lisa and Kristine.

During their marriage, they moved around before settling in Wyoming. She worked as an insurance underwriter and bookkeeper. But her number one job was her family. She especially loved her grandchildren and they loved her. 

She moved to Cheyenne to be near her daughter Kris. As circumstances prevailed, she moved into assisted living in the fall of 2023. Carol passed on May 2nd, 2024 with her daughters and granddaughter holding her hands.

While we are each going to miss her in our own way, we are comforted by the fact that she is no longer in pain.

Carol is survived by her daughters; 
Lisa Bossa and husband Grant, 
Kristine Sayler and husband Eldore.
