Cecelia Georgia "Celie" (Mores) Pickett, 76, of Cheyenne died May 3, 2013 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. Celie was born September 9, 1936, the daughter of Adele (St. Anthony) Mores and George D. Mores. Her father was an immigrant from Greece. After arriving in Cheyenne, he owned a business for thirty years. Celie's mother was a home maker and teacher. She taught in some country schools and schools in Casper and Cheyenne school systems. Celie graduated from Cheyenne High School in 1954 and the University of Wyoming, earning a degree in Elementary Education. Upon receiving her B.A., she started teaching in 1960. She taught in the Cheyenne Public School system for 12 years. On January 30, 1960, she married Robert John Pickett at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cheyenne. They have been married 53 years. Celie is survived by her husband, Robert of Cheyenne, one daughter Penelope (Jeff) Butterfield and two grandsons Cortney and Hunter of Moab, Utah; her brother George Anthony (Suzanne) Mores of Laramie, WY and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Adele St. Anthony and George D. Mores, her sister Helen Anderson and brother Louis Mores. Services will be held Tuesday 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral. Burial will be in the Judge John and Lura Pickett family cemetery plot in Beth El Cemetery. Pallbearers will be George A. Mores, Jeff Butterfield, Pat Anderson, Mike Mores, George Mores, Mark Anderson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Hunter Butterfield, Mike G. Mores, Danny Mores, Brad Pickett, John Pickett, Bob Marek and Johnny Anderson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Cathedral.
