Charlene Starrs

Charlene Starrs died August 26, 2011 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. She was born July 31, 1934 in Cheyenne. She was the daughter of Hal and Ruth (McLees) Ashenhurst. When she was two years old, the family moved back to Wheatland and she was raised on the family farm. She graduated from Wheatland High School and the University of Wyoming. She married Bill Starrs in Cheyenne on October 11, 1973 She was a member of the Cheyenne Country Club, PEO Chapter AQ, Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, The Civic League and president of the Nine Holes Ladies at the Fountain of the Sun in Mesa, AZ Mrs. Starrs is survived by her husband Bill , son Dr. Alan (Debbie) Richardson, Daughter Elaine (Jon)Willis, daughter Carla (Rick) Howard, seven grandchildren, J.D. Richardson, Michael Richardson, Justus Willis, Jordan Willis, Nathan Howard, Samuel Howard and Livia Howard. She is also survived by her brother Larry (Gaynell) Ashenhurst and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Hal and Ruth Ashenhurst. She enjoyed playing golf, Creative Memories, watching her grandchildren's activities and reading and studying the Bible. Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011 at Schrader Chapel with Pastor Bryan McLees officiating.
