Mr. Charles L. Cabe, 88, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Monday, August 15, 2011, at his home. Mr. Cabe was born March 7, 1923, in Silt, Colorado, a son of the late Leon and Annah (Starbuck) Cabe. Charles served in the United States Air Force during World War II as a radio operator. On his final furlough before his honorable discharge, he met Nellie Hannah Scollin and ten days later they were married. He initially worked on a farm and ranch and later moved to Denver where he worked in the trucking industry until his retirement. He and his wife moved from Cedar Ridge, Colorado, to Cheyenne to be closer to his family. His several interests included golfing, fishing and supporting his Denver Broncos. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Nellie Cabe of Cheyenne; a daughter, Janet M. Miller of Cheyenne; a brother, Lyalle Cabe of Grand Junction, CO; a sister, Marvel Couey of Rifle, CO; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Leon E. Cabe; and an infant son, Bobby Cabe. Cremation is under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home.
