Charles Waddy

Mr. Charles Arthur Waddy, 66, also known as "Chaz" or "Charlie", of Casper, Wyoming, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2011, at the VA Medical Center in Denver. Mr. Waddy entered into life on February 4, 1945, in Casper, Wyoming, the only child to Lucille and Charles Waddy. Though an only child, he was taken in by the Wilson family and became a brother to Larry and Pranto Wilson, both of Casper . In the early 1960's, Charlie married his first wife, Peggy Southers, and they shared two children together, daughter, Lawana Waddy and son, Charles Waddy III, both of Cheyenne. Upon their divorce in the late 1960's, as a young man he worked at Albertson's before joining the United States Army and he served in the summer of 1970. He was stationed in Fort Carson CO, but served in both Germany and Korea as well. In January 1971, he married Jean Louise Hilstad and they shared four children together, daughter, Samantha Ann Waddy Lucero of Loveland, CO, and sons, Anthony Cardell Waddy , Selmer Charles Waddy, and Arron Lee Waddy, all of Casper. Upon their divorce in May 1979, he continued his life in Casper, but never re-married. He spent some time in the VA Medical Center in Sheridan, WY, but returned later to Colorado and lived in Pueblo, CO, until he became ill and was moved to the VA Medical Center in Denver where he entered into eternal rest on December 5, 2011. Charlie loved his bright flashy clothes, bbq's in the summer, telling jokes and dancing. When he smiled all of his teeth showed, and his laugh and love for his children and life is a memory that will never be forgotten. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his brother, Pranto. He is survived by all of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed tremendously, but we know we will see him again. We love and miss you Dad. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 9, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Schrader Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, December 10th at 3:00 p.m. at the Schrader Chapel with The Reverend Roy A. Mitchell officiating. An interment service with military honors will be held at the Mountain View Memorial Park Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Schrader Reception Facility.
