Raised by her grandmother, who was a local medicine woman and midwife in Maes, NM, Clara learned valuable skills and wisdom that would shape her journey. From an early age, she embraced these teachings and carried them throughout her life. Clara's education was not confined to textbooks but rather rooted in the values of tradition and heritage.
Clara's warm personality made her a joy to be around. She effortlessly made others feel welcome and included in any gathering. Her kind and loving nature were matched only by her unwavering faith in humanity. Clara led by example and left an indelible mark on the lives she touched.
One of Clara's many remarkable qualities was her phenomenal cooking abilities. Family gatherings were always an occasion to look forward to because of the delicious meals she would prepare with love. Clara is survived by her loving children: Theresa Gonzales, Victoria Gonzales, Christine Potter, Amado Gonzales Jr., Margie Carrera, Zandra Lopez, Irene Gonzales, Frankie Gonzales (grandson she raised as her own), and 22 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren.
Clara was preceded in death by her mother Albina Grano, father Luciano Maes, stepfather Eppie Grano, husband Amado Gonzales, daughters Alva Pena and Lorraine Trujillo, and son Frankie Gonzales.
As we gather to celebrate Clara's vibrant life and bid her farewell in the embrace of eternity's realm, let us remember the profound impact she had on our lives. In death as in life, may she find eternal peace.
