Claude Ray Nussbaum, 90, of Burns, Wyoming, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014, at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. Claude was born June 21, 1923, in Pine Bluffs, WY, to Claude and Gladys Nussbaum. He was the eldest of eight siblings, seven boys and one girl. He attended school at Golden Prairie and finished in Pine Bluffs, graduating in 1941. He married Betty Fae Pittman in Pine Bluffs on August 24, 1947. He was a member of Pine Bluffs United Methodist Church, serving as a choir member and a teacher. He enjoyed attending Pleasant View Methodist Church in later years. Claude is survived by his wife, Betty Nussbaum of Burns; sons, David Nussbaum of Hillsdale and Robert Nussbaum of Minot, ND; daughter, Suzanne Deselms of Burns; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Charles Nussbaum, Kenneth Nussbaum, and Jay Nussbaum; and a sister, Betty Mae Necklason. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers. A memory service will be conducted on Friday, January 10, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the Pine Bluffs United Methodist Church. Cremation is under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home. Donations can be made to Burns Ambulance Fund or Life Care Center of Cheyenne.
