Claude A. Pruter, 98, of Cheyenne died March 4, 2016, at Davis Hospice Center. He was born May 19, 1917, to Amil and Mattie Pruter. He married Erma Nielson on January 2, 1936, in Martin, SD. He was a civil service employee at Fort Warren for 33 years, after serving during WWII in the US Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post #6, Polka Lovers of America, Eagles Lodge and Disabled American Vets, a former member of the VFW #1881 and Frontier #11453, the American Federation of Government Employees, and was a CFD volunteer. He is survived by his children, Donald G. (Miriam) Pruter of Lake Havasu, AZ, and Betty A. (Robert) Schrader of Cheyenne; six grandchildren, Tashana, Chris, Brian, Brenda, David and Eric; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Erma Pruter; parents; and a son, Claude Henry Pruter. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 8, 2016, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. A private burial will be held in Lakeview Cemetery. Donations may be made to Davis Hospice Center.
