Cora Martinez

Cora (Sanchez) Martinez, 91, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Friday, September 6, 2013, at the Cheyenne Healthcare Center. Cora was born April 26, 1922, in Las Vegas, New Mexico, a daughter of the late Jose Resendo and Carolina (Solis) Sanchez. Cora was self-employed as a seamstress and tailor and her many interests included gardening, sewing, dancing and listening to music. She attended Holy Trinity Catholic Church and was past-president of VFW Auxiliary, Post #1881. She will be remembered as the matriarch of her family and her neighborhood. Cora is survived by her four children, Lee J. Martinez, Jr. and wife, JoAnna, of Palm Bay, FL, Cynthia M. Warnock of Clinton, UT, Sencion L. Cortez of Cheyenne, and Bennie L. Martinez of Cheyenne; her sister, Pauline Caron of Yorkton, VA; 25 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Schrader Funeral Home. A Vigil for the Deceased will follow on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at the Schrader Chapel. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Wednesday, September 11th at 3:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. An interment service will follow at Beth El Cemetery.
