Cornelius Goertzen

Cornelius "Chris" Goertzen, 78, of Cheyenne died January 5, 2012 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. He was born July 28, 1933 in Henderson, Nebraska to Cornelius and Helen Goertzen. He retired as a cook working at Trails' End at F.E. Warren Air Force Base. He is survived by his daughter Diane Zimmerman of Ocoee, FL; son, Christopher Todd Goertzen of Bozeman, MT; sister, Rennie Arner of New Bern, NC, six grandchildren and his significant other, Betty Jean Pearson of Cheyenne. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Walt and Harvey Goertzen. A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Schrader Chapel with the Reverend Donald Blomberg officiating. A reception will follow in the Schrader Reception Facility. Cremation has taken place under the care of Schrader Funeral Home. Memorial contribution may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, at www.cff.org or the Arthritis Foundation at www.arthritis.org.
