Dale Anderson

Mr. Dale D. Anderson, 85, of Guernsey, Wyoming, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013, at the Kindred Healthcare in Cheyenne. Mr. Anderson was born January 8, 1928, in Newman Grove, NE, a son of the late Reuben and Dorothy (Booth) Anderson. Following his graduation from high school, Dale enlisted in the United States Army near the end of World War II. He received the Good Conduct Medal, a Victory Medal and the Carbine 30 Marksman Medal. Following his honorable discharge, he married Maxine Jones and they lived in Guernsey where he worked as a blacksmith in the Sunrise Mine until his retirement. In Dale's free time, he enjoyed playing pool, cutting wood and hand carving doll furniture. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather brother and friend and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Dale is survived by a daughter, Lou Ann Blanchard of Colorado Springs, CO; a sister, Gene Jones of Casper, WY; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Gary and Alan Anderson. Visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at the United Presbyterian Church in Guernsey with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. with The Reverend Curtis L. Hill officiating. An interment service will be held at the Prairie Rest Cemetery in Guernsey. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home, Cheyenne.
