Dale Hess

Mr. Dale E. Hess, 70, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014, at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. Mr. Hess was born April 14, 1944, in Cheyenne, a son of the late Eugene V. and Margaret R. (Mantey) Hess. Dale was a graduate of the first graduating class of East High School. He married Linda L. Sivers, and they would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary this December. He worked at Spear Lumber Company and did many jobs as a carpenter. He started working for NCG as a truck driver. NCG later became Great Plains Welding Supply where he worked for over 30 years and retired as President. He then worked part-time for Airgas Intermountain and officially retired in 2004. Dale had many interests, particularly working with anything that had an engine. He loved cars, trains, planes, hot-rods, and anything that went fast. He also enjoyed the outdoors snowmobiling and hunting. He was a member of the National Corvette Museum, Classical Glass Corvette Club, NHRA, Super Chevy Association, Good Guy's, Ecklers Chevy Classics, and the Cheyenne Depot & Train Museum. He spent his summers at every car show he could attend. He spent the winter months polishing and tweaking his cars to perfection. His friends were his extended family and once you were a friend of Dale's, you were a friend for life. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Dale is survived by his loving wife, Linda Hess of Cheyenne; two children, Robert Hess (Shondee), of Cheyenne, and Ronda Klein (Gene), of Cheyenne; four grandchildren, Tanner and Cassidy Hess and Rae'Lee and Roman Klein; four sisters; and one brother and his very best friend & loyal companion Drake. He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and two infant sons, Ricky and Mark Hess. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2014, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Schrader Funeral Home, 2222 Russell Ave. A memory service will be celebrated on Friday, September 26th at 2:00 p.m. at the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader Funeral Home with an interment service to follow at Olivet Cemetery. A reception will follow the burial service at the Schrader Reception Center.
