Daniel Rounds

Daniel K. Rounds, 45, died at his home in Cheyenne on Sunday, July 16, 2017. Dan was born May 21, 1972, the son of Keith and Linnea Rounds. He graduated from Cheyenne Central High School in 1991 and served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Lake Champlain. He was a proud veteran who loved his country. After his military service, he was an over-the-road truck driver and part owner of the family firm, C2MR Trucking, when he suffered a debilitating stroke in 2008. Although wheel-chair bound he appreciated the outdoors at every opportunity. An avid sportsman, he shot his first wild game as a teenager and had loved the hunt from the time he was a toddler. As a hemiplegic, he still enjoyed fishing and hunting and with a hand gun successfully harvested deer, elk and antelope. He was proud of his kills and displayed several taxidermy trophies of bull elk, bull moose, stag mule and whitetail deer plus a host of mounted antlers and horns. A huge full-body mount of a mountain lion was among his treasures. Dan was a Freemason in Acacia Lodge #11 A.F. & A.M., a 32nd Degree Mason in Wyoming Consistory #1, a Knight Templar in Wyoming Commandery #1, and a Shriner in the Korein Temple. He is survived by his wife, Amberly; his children; Madison Laine, Morgan Daniel, Cheyenne Marie and Daisy Ann; his parents, Keith and Linnea; his sister, Paula (David Novick); niece, Destry; nephew, Dylan; aunts, Delphine Holota and Renee (Todd) Claeys; and cousins, Melanie Holota, Zacharie and Alexandra Claeys. A masonic service with military honors will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. Daniel's family requests casual dress for those in attendance. A reception will follow at the Schrader Reception Center. Memorials may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital or Scottish Rite Children's Clinic.
